”We have a baby Sirius..” Marlene beamed, yawning a little in exhaustion.
”Yes we do.” he kissed her forehead ”We have a daughter Marls, you did it.” he said holing her hand as she held their daughter in her arms.
”Carina, the second brightest star in the sky, only because her Daddy is so big headed he stole the brightest…” she laughed ”I know you didn’t want to name her after a star but it’s a tradition and I like it..” she yawned again.
”Marls, I love it.. Carina.” he mused brushing his daughters cheek. ”Carina Eleanor.. after your Mum..” he kissed Marlene’s’ cheek as tears formed.
”A beautiful name for a beautiful little girl..” Marlene mused.
”You get some sleep, we’ll be here when you wake up.” Sirius smiled lifting his daughter out of Marlene’s arms as her eyes began to droop. Marlene dozed off moments later and Sirius sat and held his daughter, whispering all his promises to her, promises of love, hope and how if she dated before she was 30 she would be grounded, for life. Eventually Carina drifted off to sleep, like her mother and Sirius put her in the bedside cot, and started on the baby books.
”She’s going to need fed and changed how many times a day?” he winced as he read the book suddenly feeling very unprepared.
At around 6am Marlene stirred and woke up.
”Morning Love, how’re you feeling?” he asked smiling at her as she looked down at Carina.
”Like I’ve been hit by a bus if I’m being honest.” she grumbled ”It’s worth it though..”
